Gen 2- Chapter 6: Welcome to Langly island.

Serenity? Joy? Bliss? All of these things were just tiny descriptions about how I felt about this. I studied my baby bump, it was tiny but it was there. Every thing was bright and every hostile and sullen person that I saw brightened up as I smiled at them. The only thing wrong with this pregnancy was Adam...

I asked him to feel where the baby was kicking but he just acted uninterested and walked away. "We didn't decide on this together." Was what I heard him mumbling under his breath. I had told him that if it's what he wants, then we didn't have to have children. We went through all of it during counseling. But here I am, pregnant with Adam's baby and I really couldn't be more excited. Obviously, he couldn't be more opposite.

It wasn't a really exciting day, so I decided that it was high time to age up all of the children. Collette and Asa grew up beautifully and for only being teens, they were about as sophisticated as any adult I knew. Though, they caused a lot of uprising in the high school. Now deemed the most popular kids in class.

Shiloh, she grew up independent and I think that was exactly what she needed. It took her a long time to decide but she announced soon enough that she was going to be moving out. I told her that she could stay as long as she wanted but before I knew it, her bags were packed up and she was waving goodbye.

"Della Wrin-"
"It's Langly now, Dear." I corrected my best friend who was still working on getting used to this small change. "So, Della Langly. The Mrs. Married person. Sounds good to me, Langly." her giggles were so loud that I had to hold the phone away from my face to keep from hurting my ears. "Nessa!" I screeched into the phone to get her to calm down. "If you don't stop picking on me then I'm not coming today!"
 "I'm sorry..." She said. "BUT MESSING WITH YOU IS JUST SO FREAKING FUN." I hung up the phone and got the kids in the car. Adam decided to come along with us to Nessa's house just because he had nothing to do.

The April air was too warm. It was almost like summer came just a little to early. I laid on Nessa's patio with my hat and sunglasses on, Collette and Asa were playing around in the house with the video games and Nessa was swimming. She had Adam tilling up a garden for her. Big man work that Gabe was a bit too busy to do. Adam actually offered to do it and she declined at first.

Vanessa climbed out of the pool. Ringing out her hair which was now dark blue. "Nessa..." I laughed, pulling my sunglasses down. Adam burst into laughter from the other side of the pool. Nessa looked down and saw that she had been dyed blue. She turned around. She was fuming. "Adam. freaking. Langly. I'm going to kill you." 

"When did you ever have the time to dye her pool blue?" I asked Adam as we were walking through the park. "I put the dye in her filter before she got in." He laughed, looking up at the sky. Adam broke off to go play catch with Collette and Asa. They had just passed by, chasing each other and screaming.

"Hi." From the corner of my eye I noticed a very strange woman with a snake like demeanor. "You know..." The weird redheaded woman said, her high heels tinking on the tile floor near the fountain. "If you're hungry, I heard that there is this amazing apple tree near the middle of the park. There is fence around it but that's just because the town doesn't want to share this amazing fruit...I bet if you took one...it'd fill you right up.

"I don't know..." The bit of buzz that the pain medicine I took awhile ago for my headache was wearing off. "It is kind of making me hungry..." the woman put her hand around my shoulder. "My name is Satania, I'm just here to help!" As the tree popped into view, my mouth started to water.

I reached into the leaves after carefully scaling the fence, the woman disappeared while I helped myself to the Apples. "Adam!" I called, "Come over here!" I put one of the Apples into his hand and he ate it. "That...is the best apple I've ever tasted..." I sat up against the fence and munched on the apple, watching Collette and Asa goof off.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" An older man with white hair stormed over to where me and Adam were sitting..."WELL! IF IT ISN'T THE TOWN'S MODERN DAY ADAM AND EVE!" He said pulling me up by the arm. "THAT TREE IS RESTRICTED! ITS ILLEGAL TO EVEN TOUCH IT!"

Adam looked the man up and down and without a second thought, punched him right in the nose saying "Don't you DARE touch my wife!" The man grabbed his face screaming "THAT'S IT! OUT! YOU'RE BANISHED FROM THIS TOWN AND WILL BE PLACED ON A DESOLATE ISLAND OUTSIDE OF THE LIMITS! HAVE YOUR THINGS READY BY SUNUP!"

He shoved a piece of paper at Adam and stomped away, pulling out his cell phone... "Ummm...ooops." I said. I kept my voice unusually steady..."What about our family? What about my kids..." I said looking over the ticket. My heart started to race...my mom...Adam's sister...Collette and Asa....The new baby! How are we supposed to raise a baby on an empty island? I was growing frantic when I saw Satania wave at me with an evil grin and then disappear.

"What if she would have been leading you to some kind of poisonous apple tree or something?!" I sighed. He was right, as always. "I don't know...It was tempting."
 "Hell yes it was tempting! But it's dangerous to trust strangers!" Adam folded up the last bit of clothes from his dresser. "And now we don't have a home. We have no idea whats on this island!" I threw more things into a box, silently. I kept my head down and avoided his eyes at all cost.

"Della! Look at me." He was right up behind me but by now I know what it sounds like when he's angry. "You can't avoid me forever..." He whispered into my ear. I turned around and he caught me by the wrists and pushed me up against the wall. "We'll be fine...they won't put us somewhere we would die." his voice softened and I nodded before he engulfed me in a sweet kiss.

The cops showed up at 8:00 Am. Me and Adam were escorted out and Collette and Asa followed. I looked back at our home as people hauled our stuff into a giant van. I wasn't ready for this and neither was Adam. Our entire world was flipped as were dumped of on an island....It was completely empty...nothing but us and our few items.

"Adam..." My strained voice made him turn his head. The pain started almost exactly after I finished setting up a place to sleep. "Its..." but he already knew and had a finger to my lips. "Give me your hand..." I put my hand in his and he pulled me up into his arms and laid me on the bed. I panted, the pain taking over and making me scream.

The hours folded into each other and every minute there was more pain. It was the pain I was sure I would never ever get used to. This pain that I had known from the time I turned 18 until just a few months ago. "Push, Della...Push!" I bit my lip and pushed one last time...giving birth to a daughter.

The sweat laced my forehead and my drained energy made it hard to stay awake. But that baby girl in my arms...the beautiful baby girl I delivered...was sleeping as I brushed away her tiny dark strands of hair. It didn't take much to get Adam to kneel beside the bed and look at his daughter. "Oh my gosh..." The light in his eyes brightened and he brushed the top of her hair. "She...looks like me..."
"She even has your hair!" I said handing her to him..."and she obviously loves you." her tiny arms reached out of the blanket and touched his face. "What are we going to name her?" He looked over at me as he asked the question.

"I was thinking...Ande. Spelled A. N. D. E. like your sisters name...only different, and it would be short for Andellia. There's both of us in that name." Tears started to gather at the corner of his eyes and he kissed Ande's forehead before looking at me as the first tear glided down his cheek... "Its perfect..."
